Serpentinites at Traiguanca Bridge (Serpentinitas Puente Traiguanca)

A few kilometers from the entrance to Bahía Murta, near the Puente Traiguanca, lies a small, vegetation-covered hill where you can observe rocks classified by geologists as serpentinites. These are a very rare and peculiar type of rock, and in this case, they are the only known serpentinites in the General Carrera Province, as well as the southernmost occurrence in all of Chile.
