Lions Glacier Moraine (Morrena Glaciar Leones)

The terminal moraine of the Leones Glacier is one of the most representative—and likely the most studied—in the territory of the General Carrera Province. Moraines are arc-shaped landforms that indicate a cold and stable stage in geological history. Specifically, this moraine shows that 2,500 years ago, the Leones Glacier extended 10 kilometers farther to the northeast than it does today.
