The Candonga

La Candonga is a dramatic scenic spot located along the road between Bahía Murta and Puerto Eulogio Sánchez. It is known for being a steep and narrow area where beautiful pink-colored rocks can be seen. These rocks are classified by geologists as syenogranites.

What are the large pink minerals visible in syenogranites called? Why are there so many rockfalls in this area?

We hope to share more information about this geosite through the various community activities we will carry out as part of the Chelenko Geopark Project.
