Moñe Hill (Cerro Moñe)

An unmissable panoramic view of the local landscape reveals Mount Moñe, one of the geosites in the Río Ibáñez commune. Located approximately 5 kilometers southeast of Villa Cerro Castillo, it is the most representative example of a glacial threshold in the General Carrera Province.

Its geological history is extensive: it formed underground 100 million years ago, then weathering and fault activity brought it to the surface, and finally, glaciers over the past million years shaped its current form.
